Today we managed to strip the exhaust manifold and carb off the 1600 head (and only managed to shear one bolt)!  The exhaust manifold itself is in a terrible condition so it will need a good clean up before it goes anywhere near the head again.

We took the head down to Canterbury for the to get it converted to unleaded, and noticed the camshaft is well worn – perfect opportunity to upgrade to a 2.0l cam.

Now we wait for the phone call…
